It seems that renting and self driving will give much freedom for the tour in Bali. Partly the assumption is yes. Yet please take note that the conditon of traffic in Bali is very different from most of the countries. First the road is very small and passing through most of the villages with not border between pedestrian and the running car on the road. Most driver do not have licence based on true test of traffic knowledge, secondly many animals such as dogs, poultry often cross the road. The increasing number of motor bikes give special difficulty for the car driver to run on the road, as most of them do not understand the line and priority. The low of traffic accident in Indonesia still based on ancient colonial regulation which do not looked for the fact who was wrong and who was correct in the traffic, but will always put the emphasize who was the most losing from this accident. So please be extra careful with the traffice in Bali not only among traffickers but also the laws of traffic.
