The trip was name as Jatiluwih Rice Terrace and Batukaru Temple to reflect the fact that Balinese lives in country side has made a beautiful rice terrace for their rice growing. Within daily life they are to much bound by the rituals reflected by the number of temples in their land from the rice field, village area, family and the mountain. Jatiluwih is one of the most widest rice terrace in one sight of eyes not blocked by any natural barrier. The born of a beautiful rice terrace is not intended to make interesting place, yet it was only a coincident that the farmer wanted to make their land as plain as possible and using as much as possible the available land on their area. As the fact that the topography of Jatiluwih is not a plain land the cut the land into many terraces which born what we can see now. Batukaru temple is one of the 9 big temples in Bali, located on the foot of the second highest mountain in Bali that is Batukaru mountain ca. 2671 meters above sea level, just after Mt. Agung, ca. 3142 meters above sea level. The combination of Jatiluwih rice terrace and the holy mountain of Batukaru has become a blessing to local people who is known as the rice granary of Bali. The trip to Jatiluwih and Batukaru normally take not normal route so far known in tourism, yet taking the routes which is deep in the country side of Bali where tourists very rare if not absent to this places. Along the route one can only sea Balinese with their daily life and the real land of Bali. That is why the tour is also named as the Land and Leute or Land and People. Especially the name is very suitable for the name of this tour.

The location of Jatiluwih is on the area of Kabupaten Tabanan adjacent with the administration of Kabupaten Badung in the east, Kabupaten Jembrana on the west and Kabupaten Buleleng on the north. Interesting places such as Tanah Lot temple, Bedugul mountain resort, Ulun Danu temple, Kedaton Monkey forest are located in the area of this Kabupaten administration. On the northern border of Kabupaten Tabanan administration is the highland and mountain of Central Bali stretching from west tip to the east tip of Bali island. So the mountain row is like a natural border between Tabanan and Buleleng. On the southern area starting from Jatiluwih is irrigated land up to the southern shore where Tanah Lot temple is located, while further north to the high land up to the mountain due to the height that water could not be brought, the people living on highland crops and plantation such as coffee, cacao, oranges, banana, and various short live crops.
