The surrounding of Ubud are consist of traditional villages which are all already developed and reaching
a status that is like small town. East of Ubud is Pejeng which is known to have the most richest
archaeological heritages from 12 to 16th century, and even some are very old and supposed from 8th century

ancient heritages, the government built a museum just before the village of Pejeng with the assignment to
identify, inventory, and maintenant the heritages. This village is a popular sightseeing stop for a regular
day tour called Tampak Siring tour of Kintamani mountain tour. While at the west of Ubud town is
the famous Ayung river with the beautiful gorges where dozens of hotels, villas and bungalows dotted
the slope of the river. The water of this river has been served to a regular white water rafting.
