Singaraja is taken from two word, Singa means Lion and Raja means King.
Singaraja means the Lion King with Singa Umbara Raja statue stand up in the
center of Singaraja City. In the pass, Singaraja is the center of Dutch power in
Bali and also as the remained the administrative center for the Lesser Sunda
island from Bali to Timor until 1953. Singaraja has many tourist attraction, the
famous one is Lovina Beach, where you can find many hotels, restaurants and
nightlife or Pub are spread a long the beach, they are Aditya Beach Resort
Hotel, Bali Taman Hotel, Aneka Lovina Beach Hotel, Bali Lovina Beach and other
lower categories. From Lovina Beach, you have short access to reach some of
tourist object on the north coast such as Banjar Natural Hot Spring where you
can swim and take a bath for healing of skin problem, the oldest Buddhist
Monastery, Pura Beji, one of Subak Temple in Sangsit, Gitgit
Waterfall. Lovina is good base for the trip around the northern coast of Bali,
only 2 hours drive from Denpasar Airport. |
