An annual festival covering the city of Kuta with surrounding such as Legian and Seminyak will be held on 19 to 27 September this year. This festival has been confirmed by the head of Kabupaten Badung that it will go on as planned. This is a report from Bali Post daily news published on Friday 31 July 2009. The committee of Kuta Carnival presenting their members to the head of Kabupaten Badung, the Bupati Anak Agung Gede Agung on Wednesday 29 July 2009. The Bupati said that he supported the realization of this event, which was quoted as saying " We will fully support the event of promotion in the region of Kabupaten Badung including Kuta Carnival". Presence also Secretary of Kabupaten Badung Wayan Subawa, the Camat or local head of Kuta region, and the Lurah, local head of Legian, and Seminyak administrations. According to the Bupati that Kuta Carnival which will enter it's 7th years anniversary will be carried out from 19 to 27 September 2009 and must be realized as one of the promotional event of Kabupaten Badung. It is said that the government of Kabupaten Badung will take any effort to realize this event. "Kuta Carnival must be carried out every year, and do not let any year without it. If such an event is absence it will give a bad image to other big events and tourism image to he said. After the bombing at Mega Kunigan on Friday 17 July, the event of Kuta Carnival become very important to keep public confidence in whatever the situation might be, Kuta Carnival must go on. The trust of public will loose if an event is cancelled. At the time the government of Kabupaten Badung will support with fund and other facilities. " The support will not going down, even it could be higher then the previous year" he said. But the Bupati would not say how much fund will be allocated. Last year beside in cash, the government also did not draw promotion taxes. Continue
