NUSA DUA TOURIST RESORT

Nusa Dua is a name for 2 small specs of islands on the east coast of Bali southern foot. Nusa means island, and Dua means two. All small islands on south sea is called with Nusa, such as Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan. Now the name of Nusa Dua is used to refer the area of southern tip of Bali, especially eastern part of the foot, and now is the tourism resort with collection of 5 stars hotels, golf course and shopping center. If we talk about tourism resort actually Nusa Dua is consist of two main areas, one is those region specially developed by Bali land consolidator which is a limited area from Nusa Dua Beach hotel extends south ward up to Bali Hilton Hotel. While from Nusa Dua Beach Hotel north ward area is belong to a traditional village called "Tanjung Benoa Village ". The village of Tanjung Benoa is fisherman settlement along the cape of Tanjung Benoa, a narrow and long land with white sandy beach at the east beach, and marsh at the west side. From Nusa Dua area to the tip of the Tanjung Benoa cape is connected by narrow hardened road called jalan Pratama with the length around 2 kms. Other traditional village in Nusa Dua area is at the west border that is Bualu Village. No one knows when these 2 villages were started. The fact that before the area was specially developed into tourist resort, where land was so barren. It were only coconut, melon, cucumber and a kind of acid fruits used for rujaks (Bali fruit platter with chili sauce ) that were produced. People were living from fishing and ship breeding. On the western part of Bali foot there are an other traditional village called Pecatu and Ungasan. Before 1980 the area was also totally barren stones. People only leave from ship breeding and fishing. At the area of south Pecatu is is standing the famous Uluwatu temple. Geologically the area of Bali foot is considered young land, it formed by the lifted up of sea bed, due to tectonic activities such as the gradual movement of soil layers. It is very clear if you have the chance to visit cave called "Goa Selonding ". Around the cave there are plenty of equatic animal fossils, such as various sea - shells
