One interesting visit during sightseeing tour in Bali is
visiting Balinese house, Balinese house has seen along the
road in Bali looks common, like anywhere in the world, yet
there are two types of Balinese original houses before common
international house style also constructed in Bali. The
priest in Bali house of people at the lowland, south Bali,
and Balinese house at the highland. This 2 types of Balinese
houses has very different architectural elements. Both types
of houses can still be seen in Bali today. Balinese house
at the lowland, consist of many pavilions, so it is often
called as Balinese house compound in an area enclosured
by traditional Balinese wall and gate are some pavilions
including : 1. Family temple. The family temple consist
of many small pavilions or shrines dedicated to the Gods
and holy souls of ancestors. The shape of shrines are like
a miniature of real house or pavilions for human being and
others made in only one room with decoration and high style,
and one in 3 rooms. To mention an example of family temple
there are some shrines : (a) Piasan an open pavilion as
the place of offering before it is offered to the God. (b)
Menjangan Sluang, a closed pavilion with the size averaging
3x1mx1m, with the carving of antelope head on the front,
as the homage of Balinese having relation with Majapahit
kingdom. (c) Kemulan, a closed 3 rooms pavilion dedicated
to 3 of God's forces. (d) Taksu, an open pavilion dedicated
to the god in the hope that the family profession be blessed
always. (e) Tugu, an open pavilion which function is not
clear. (f) Padmasana, an open candi made totally by stone
as the symbole and dedicated to the one mighty god, Ida
Sanghyang Widhi Wasa. Some family temple do not yet have
this shrine, but most modern Balinese will have (g) Other
closed pavilions, can be 1 or 2 or more as the pavilion
dedicated to holy soul of ancestors or temporary homage
of god as the manifestation of forces at some big temples
in Bali. The complex of this family temple is separated
by low wall from in house complex or compound with one open
gate. 2. Bale Daja, a closed pavilion constructed at the
northern part of the compound. This house usually have the
function for preserving the family relics or family temples
ceremony materials. If son of the family get married, the
couple is kept 3 night in this house. For Brahmana family,
usually the priest will sleep here. 3. Bale Dauh, the half
open pavilion set at the west part of the compound. This
pavilion has the function of hasting the guest and as bed
room. 4. Bale Dangin, is an open pavilion, usually it is
made small with only one open bed, If one of family member
is died the corp will be laid down here until buried at
