4 Night / 5 Days Exploration of West Sumatra
Mimangkabau
country is a beautiful land located on the west of Sumatra
with the high position of the country and beautiful capital
city of Bukittingi. Bukitttinggi was used as the leisure by
the high officials of Dutch during 18th century and still
can be seen the heritages from the era. One has great historical
meaning to the local and Indonesia is the undersoil defence
of Japanese soldiers during the world war II just facing the
famous Sihanouk Canyon. Minangkabau has specific
tradition which is still live until today. Visiting
the country would be a great experience on the ethnic variety
of Indonesia beside its beautiful country. We have launched
promotional program to the country with our representative
office in Padang, the capital city of West Sumatra. The following
sample itinerary is the idea that how the country can be explored.
Day 01 Arrival at Tabing Airport, Padang,
Meeting service and transfered to hotel. Free time and enjoy
walking aroung the city. Dinner and overnight at hotel in
Padang city.
Day 02 Padang City Tour - Bukittinggi
After breakfast at hotel, check-out and depart for city tour
visiting the famous beach of Padang facing wide Indian ocean,
and the Taman Budaya where you can see the art of West Sumatra,
Jembatan Siti Nurbaya or Siti Nurbaya Bridge a place indicated
to a girl that become victim of marriage planned by parents.
This is a title of Roman written by one of the famous art
writer from West Sumatra. Lunch will be served at local restaurant.
West Sumatra is very famous for its specific meal called "
Masakan Padang" almost like Balinese cooking, with strong
taste and hot concept. After lunch depart to Bukittinggi through
the inner part of West Sumatra, where you can see the remains
of rail way constructed during the Dutch colonization. Dinner
and overnight at Bukittinggi city.
Day 03 Bukittinggi - Minangkabau Tour
After breakfast depart for full day tour around Minangkabau
country visiting the main activity of the city the market,
famous Sihanouk Canyon, Japanese undersoil defence, and Dutch
Fort. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. After lunch
tour will be continued to the heart of Minangkabau culture
at Batu Sangkar and Pagaruyung where you can see beautiful
traditional house of Minangkabau called " Rumah Gadang
" In Indonesia only Minangkabau and Bali have unique
architecture with full of decorations by wood carving and
coloration. Back to hotel at Bukittinggi. Dinner and overnight
at hotel in Bukittinggi.
Day 04 Maninjau Lake Tour
After breakfast depart for Lake Maninjau with visit on the
way the songket cloth craft at Pandai Sikat village. The beautiful
songket cloth of Padand is the best in Indonesia with very
detailed work, silver work at Koto Gadang, and the river of
Landie with it's stunning view, as Sumatra has many big rivers
and the Embun Pagi resort a beautiful resort near the lake.
The lake is very wide and located further down on the lowland.
Here the panorama of nature is very stunning. Lunch will be
serve at the local restaurant. Return to Bukittinggi. Dinner
and overnight at hotel in Bukittinggi.
Day 05 Transfer to Tabing Airport Padang
After breakfast, check-out hotel and drive to Padang airport
for your return flight.
