DRUG ABUSE IN BALI

As late as 1980 Bali surprised with news of tripping. Many people talked about certain person or guests were tripping at a discotheque in Kuta. What was tripping? To hear about the condition of a person being in tripping writer soon understand that he should be drunken at least by alcoholic drink over dosage. But later was found the cause of tripping both mixed drinks from various strong alcoholic content also by a certain drug called "Koplo" and later known again as "exstassy". But why one risk to get tripping? Some advocated that a stage of compensation of failure or young blood heroic spirit. Those who put the opinion like this is the same as those who got tripping. In my opinion this is caused by lack of knowledge. Knowledge is not only belong to those who is actually economically success or got certification of university, but by those who keen to read all kind of readings, balancing to include all aspects of life, just as the list of subjects at the school added again with various knowledge when they live as part of adultery. The more people knows about things the more they can connect every aspects of their knowledge. This can keep favorable tradition filtering and direct the culture to a set of objectives. This is a question never answered with sufficient reason.

Local government warned the people through school public view, and others. It was said at the certain corner of a discotheques which were frequented by tourists already available a type of narcotic as known above, a type of tablet believed to give endurance to the body to be very strong, especially for men. Since frequent consumption of this drug causing dependency, then user as if they entered a trap to routinely consume with no time tolerant.

By 2000, the circulation of such drugs glided out from its nests to certain people. Despite the effort by government, in this case police to fight the divulgation of this drug, the fact that it is known already by more and more people outside of drug addicted people. Such clique which was consist of mostly tourists at their intention to introduce to local people who close to them. This is the cause why some Balinese also addicted. Around 2000 most families who had their children working at tourists service again lift up into feeling of disturbance, worry, inquietude, scared and mixed anxiety, just as the era of 1960s when parents of Bali did not allow their children to work in tourism service due to the image that tourism infected an attitude of free sex.

By late 2002 big captures of drug smugglers from Australia and Holland were shown by customs officers in Ngurah Rai airport and Cengkareng airport. After Mr. Bambang Yudoyono win the presidency seat, again big successes in disclosing and put into jail some big narcotic factories, one of which was believed as the biggest producers in Asia and had been producing for some years until they faced the new government regiment and all of them were reported to have relation with producers abroad as material suppliers and technical advisers.

It is really worrisome that most of younger generation do not fully understand the fatal impact of such drug to their whole life, and this is due to their lack of interest in reading books explaining one experience of how the drug not only kill addicted, but their family and relatives.
